What is EOF?
The Educational Opportunity Fund is a state-funded program providing opportunities for higher education to New Jersey residents who would not be able to attend college without the program's financial assistance and special services.
Who Can Participate? A person who (a) has been a legal resident of the State for at least twelve (12) consecutive months prior to receiving the grants; (b) meets the financial criteria established by EOF; (c) is or will be a full-time student as defined by the institution offering the undergraduate program of study; (d) has not demonstrated a sufficient academic preparation to gain admission to an approved institution of higher education under its regular standards of admissions; (e) whose standardized test scores are below the institutional norms; and (f) whose educational background indicates a need for developmental skills.

- Supervised/Independent Study Groups
- Special Skills Workshops
- Bilingual Services
- Counseling
- Individual counseling in personal and financial matters
- Group counseling seminars in self-esteem building, personal motivation, and goals clarification
- Financial Assistance though grants of an amount that may be equal to the cost of tuition and fees for
students who qualify. The EOF grant can be renewed each year until graduation, up to six years, as long as
satisfactory academic progress is achieved and maintained. Graduate EOF grants are also available.
